Parvin Mousavi is a professor of Computer Science, Pathology and Medicine at Queen’s University, a member of the College of the Royal Society of Canada and a faculty affiliate of the Vector AI Institute. She received her PhD from UBC and has held visiting professorships at UBC and Harvard Medical School. Her research interests are in AI applied to computer-assisted interventions and surgeries. She has led numerous multi-national collaborative initiatives in these areas and currently directs the CREATE Training program in Medical Informatics, focusing on training the next generation of AI experts in Medicine. Prof. Mousavi represented the Royal Society of Canada in the Summit of the G7 Academy of Sciences on the topic of AI and Society. She has received the IEEE C.C. Gotlieb Computer Medal for outstanding contributions to Biomedical Computing. She is a Fellow of the Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Interventions Society (MICCAI) and a founding member of Women in MICCAI.
