Dr. Samuel Clarke is an expert in the development of nanoparticles for research, diagnostic and therapeutic applications with more than 15 years’ experience in the field. Samuel is the Director of Product Development at Precision NanoSystems Inc. where he is responsible for the development of lipid nanoparticle reagents for genetic medicine applications. Samuel previously worked for STEMCELL Technologies Inc. where he invented and commercialized magnetic nanoparticle technologies for research and cell therapy applications. He has PhD and post-doc in quantum dot nanoparticles from McGill University and École Normale Supérieure.

Novel Platform Technologies to Accelerate Genomic Medicine Drug Development

RNA can be designed to silence, express, and edit specific genes providing a flexible and powerful approach to treating disease. Precision NanoSystems has developed a “genetic medicine toolbox” for the development of RNA lipid nanoparticles (LNP). The toolbox comprises a RNA drug substance platform, a LNP drug delivery platform, and a microfluidic manufacturing platform. In this talk, we will provide examples to demonstrate the versatility of the toolbox for accelerating vaccine, gene therapy and cell therapy drug development.
